TAMPA -- On Tuesday (4/27) Labrawn Saffold was one of four people selected as winner of the Buc Quarterback Award. Each person receiving the award received $2,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice. Labrawn was nominated by his former teacher at King High School for returning back to King and helping with the F.C.A.T. and the after school QUEST PROGRAM. One of the winners were ALEX Bar-b-Que for his bike program. The event took place at One Buc Place and each person invited four people to the ceremony. Doug William was the speaker at the event and in his talk, he shared with the audience about the work and the compassionate spirit that A.S.C.S. has exhibited over the years of helping the next generation with fulfilling its dreams.

On Wednesday, A.S.C.S. lost a dear friend, Dean Rivette, who was the first student that signed a scholarship. Former Bear teammate Leslie Frazier signed him to play football at Trinity College. Dean was injured in training camp and never played again, but he did parlay the game from the playing field to the game of life. (See the tribute to Dean that was read at his funeral on the next page.)

Leslie Frazier invited Eric Ortiz to the Minnesota Vikings camp last week, he has since sign with the Tampa Bay Storm.

Attended senior award night at King High School, where Yinkee was the MC and Labrawn gave out awards to the quest students.
